If you always craved the taste of beer with your breakfast, but were scared away by the social stigma towards chugging a cold one with your Corn Flakes, a Scottish craft brewery may have found a solution: Beer jelly.

Well, not exactly “beer jelly.” They call it “Marm & Ale, the world’s first beer marmalade,” but you get the idea. Now you can have your IPA right on your toast, and society’s judging eyes will be none the wiser.

This creation comes to us from the lovely folks at Innis & Gunn, who opened its second Beer Kitchen in Dundee, Scotland, last week and created this marmalade to help celebrate the occasion.

Dougal Sharp, Innis & Gunn founder and master brewer, said: “Launching in this great city has provided us with an opportunity to do what we do best: push the boundaries of what’s possible with beer through innovation and experimentation.

It should be noted that it seems the Italians were the first to concoct the idea of spreadable beer. The product known as  Birra Spalmabile has been around since at least 2013, and is available to purchase online for just $14.19.

The Scottish version is only available in free trials and is in limited supply, but it should not be long before an American craft brewer picks up the torch stateside.
