NEW YORK, NY – MARCH 11: The Duke Blue Devils celebrate their 75-69 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the championship game of the 2017 Men’s ACC Basketball Tournament at the Barclays Center on March 11, 2017 in New York City. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)

Duke looks like it’s playing its best basketball right now, and doing it at the most opportune time.  With the NCAA Tournament around the corner, the Blue Devils closed out its conference season by winning four games in four days to win ACC Tournament Championship Saturday night. It’s hard to even remember that in late January, the Blue Devils went through a rough period where they lost three out of four games, including a shocker at home to NC State. Of course, this was all in the absence of their Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski, who had to miss seven games in January to recover from back surgery. The crazy part about all this is that, during that period, some Duke-hating college basketball fans actually thought (or at least joked about) that Duke would be playing in the NIT this postseason.  Here’s a collection of Duke-to-NIT tweets from late January.
