Just a few weeks ago, it seemed like Northwestern was a lock to clinch its first NCAA bid in school history. The long tortured program is in the middle of its best season ever, but had lost 4 out of its last 6 going into Saturday night’s game in Indiana. However,  despite their recent slide, most experts were certain that the Wildcats would clinch an NCAA tournament birth with a win against the Hoosiers. When Northwestern was up 8 with 1:33 left, the dream appeared to be becoming a reality.  However, it was not meant to be tonight.  A furious comeback by Indiana in the final 90 seconds gave the Hoosiers a 63-62 win, and left the Wildcats devastated.  Let’s review a few tweets from when Northwestern was leading late in the game…

Famous Northwestern alums expressed their disappointment…

Fortunately for the Wildcats there is time left to still lock up a bid,  but the window is getting smaller.
