I personally loathe chocolate, but I’m in a very small group of people who feel that way. For the chocoholics out there, this story might well be for you.

Mondelez International, the forces behind Cadbury, Oreos and other famous chocolate brands is looking for just that person.

The job offer was posted on LinkedIn, but courtesy the Metro of the UK, here are the responsibilities and requirements to become a professional chocolate taster.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to taste chocolate and cocoa beverage products and give objective and honest feedback.
  • Work within a team of panellists to share opinions and collaborate to reach an agreement on taste.
  • Use a clearly defined vocabulary to describe products and aid in the discrimination between products.
  • Be consistent in the results given.
  • Know the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities of the position; raise questions and concerns when faced with an ethical or compliance issue; apply integrity in all aspects of professional conduct.
  • Chocolate tasters are key in helping Mondelez perfect and launch an entirely new product all over the world.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for confectionary and taste buds for detection
  • Honesty when it comes to giving an opinion
  • Eager to try new inventive products
  • A communicative personality to build great relationships with your panel
  • A firm grasp of the English Language

This sounds amazing! And you’d only have to work 7.5 hours a week, Tuesday-Thursday from 12:15 to 2:45 PM! But there’s a small problem: you’ll have to move to Reading in the UK to have this job. But I could imagine many people would be willing to move halfway across the world to get paid to taste chocolate three days a week.

The link for the job is here. Hope your passport is ready and if you’re applying, good luck.
