The NBA may already have its lineup for the 3-point shooting competition at the All-Star game locked in, but maybe they should make room for one more contestant. If there wasn’t an age minimum to qualify for the contest, this 16-month old basketball sharpshooter could have been a contender.

OK, so maybe this kid isn’t quite ready to give Klay Thompson a run for his money, but we can admire this young lad’s enthusiasm for shooting from downtown. Give some credit to the dad in the video below, who cheered on his son throughout the homemade 3-point contest.

He didn’t sink every shot he took, but even Reggie Miller and Ray Allen missed a few shots along the way. And I’ll admit he probably made more shots than I would have under such pressure. If you lost track, this kid made seven of his ten shots.

Nine basketballs had been lined up, but one of his successful shots rolled back to him for a bonus shot. After making his first four shots, our young basketball-star-in-the-making missed two straight shots before regaining his composure to close out with three more shots in a row before missing his final attempt.

That’s not a bad percentage. Sign him up.
