The bond between a dog and it’s owner is one of the most special friendships on Earth. If you own a dog, you know that feeling and how amazing it can be.
Mark Woods, from Cornwall, England, got Walnut the whippet when he was just a puppy. 18 years later, as he prepared to put Walnut down over the weekend after his health had deteriorated, he went to Facebook and appealed for fellow dog lovers to join him on their last walk together on Walnut’s favorite beach.
“Sadly I am having to have Walnut euthanised on Saturday 12th November and so we will be having a last walk together on his beloved Porth Beach at 9.30am, I would love it if dog lovers/owners and friends would join us for a celebration of Walnut on his favourite Porth Beach.”
After the post was discovered and shared, hundreds of people showed up with their pooches to make it a very, very special walk.

The beach in which they walked on is closed to dogs normally outside of the summer months but they made an exception for this cute pup.
According to the BBC, Woods found the response to his post “incredible.” Sadly, Walnut was put down the next day but the special moment he left behind is the final piece of the legacy left behind by a man and his dog.
