Have you ever thought that cleaning up after yourself while in the restroom is a bit cumbersome? Well Simone Giertz, who has built such great machines as a popcorn machine helmet, a robot that can’t make peanut butter sandwiches among other achievements, has decided to help you with those problems by creating a butt-wiping machine.

Here’s a demonstration, thankfully using a mannequin instead of an actual person.

And in case you are unable to watch the entire video, here’s a GIF Giertz posted to Twitter of how her new machine works.

So what exactly is this machine? You would expect it to be really high tech, considering her other work. Sorry to burst your bubble, but all this machine is is a roll of toilet paper mounted on a powerdrill. So when you’ve finished your business, you press a button an a robotic arm swings down to the needy area and proceeds to give you a 1,000 RPM cleaning. Although, the robot tends to miss its target quite a bit and most of the toilet paper ends up in the bowl without having cleaned anything. Hey, she warned you.

So it’s safe to say this machine has a few bugs that need to be worked out. But in the long march of technology, a proficient and efficient butt wiping robot seems inevitable. Although we could assume that the basis of its technology will not be a power drill.
