Aaron Baddeley lost his putter at the worst possible time, but did his best to work around the unlikely scenario.

During Monday’s final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship, Baddeley somehow misplaced his putter, forcing him to improvise and use a wedge in the tourney’s final rounds. Surprisingly, the change didn’t handicap Baddeley, as he did an admirable job sinking a 12-foot par putt with the new stick on the 18th hole.

Baddeley ended up using the wedge to putt on the last four holes of the tourney.

Good on Baddeley for working around the loss of his trusty putter. But, the question remains, how did he lose it? Did he toss it in the drink? Did he embarrassingly break it frustration? Did he give it away? There’s no answer to the mystery.

Baddeley survived the tourney, hitting even par on his final four holes. Not a shabby performance considering the bizarre circumstance. Next time, though, Baddeley should consider being more prepared in case of another sudden putter disappearance.
