Well, at least somebody learned their lesson from Happy Gilmore.
During the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Friday in Orlando, Smylie Kaufman casually walked down the fairway at Bay Hill, and suddenly noticed that there was an alligator right in front of him. The former LSU golfer jumped back and immediately had his club ready in attack position just in case.
That’s the way any sane person would react, and it’s the exact opposite of how golfer Cody Gribble reacted Thursday in the same situation.
Here’s video of Kaufman’s close encounter with the gator:
Smylie’s not smiling! ?
Watch out for the gator!

While Kaufman presumably had to check his undies after leaving the course, he took the whole thing in good fun later.
Yeah, tournament down in Florida. I hooked my ball in the rough down by the lake. Dang alligator just popped up and bit my hand off. 🙈 https://t.co/XvOZt2LHNr

We’re still trying to figure out if this was the same alligator that Gribble love-patted yesterday. The beast was unavailable for comment.
