The Oakland Athletics and Chicago White Sox are two of the worst teams in baseball, and it’s been that way for a few years — especially for the A’s. For the second straight year, the A’s will finish 29th in attendance, ahead of only the Tampa Bay Rays.

Thinking ahead, the franchise already found a way to boost attendance for at least one game next season: free admission for their April 17 home game against the White Sox to honor the 50th anniversary of their first game at Oakland Coliseum.

Hopefully people show up instead of watching the Warriors crush the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. If the A’s can’t fill free seats, that would be embarrassing.
