The Baltimore Orioles have had a less-than-stellar season, but hey, they’d won five in a row heading into last night’s contest against the Tigers! That’s good! Unfortunately they lost, 7-5. That’s bad. But they did turn their second triple play of the season, which featured an A+ call from Gary Thorne:

That’s very good!

Some triple plays come thanks to sheer luck and coincidence—like strange bloopers and baserunning mistakes—but this was just a really well-executed, fundamental triple play. It was also just the fourth triple play of the season (somehow, the Orioles have half of the triple plays this year).

Congrats to the Orioles. May their triple plays eventually turn into wins.
