A procedure like a colonoscopy is supposed to be simple and relatively safe.

For Matt Marksberry, it was anything but, as the Braves pitcher ended up having to be put in a medically induced coma due to complications during the procedure. Luckily, he has now been woken up from the aforementioned coma. What exactly happened to the 26-year-old-pitcher? How did it get to this point?

Marksberry had been complaining about stomach pains for about a week and a colonoscopy was scheduled to find out the source of the problem. During the procedure Marksberry had a seizure and suffered a collapsed lung. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Marksberry has begun to wake up and has had an endotracheal tube removed in anticipation.

The Ohio native tweeted out a cryptic tweet before the procedure on Tuesday, leaving many worried.

The Braves commented only by saying Marksberry was being treated for severe dehydration before going to see the doctor.

While some answers are beginning to come in, plenty more questions are arising. For now, the questions will have to wait and words of encouragement will have to replace them. It seems more than likely that the public is still missing a lot of info.
