These rings were 108 years in the making and it was worth it.

After raising their World Series Champions banner Monday, the Cubs revealed another thing the champs are known to receive, their championship rings.

I think it’s safe to say that the 1908 ring doesn’t have as many diamonds as the 2016 version.

The newest ring, made by Jostens, is made with 14-karat white gold and has 214 total diamonds. Each player, coach and selected front office people gets a personalized ring but fans can get their own version which range in price from $299 to $10,800.

While everyone will see the Cubs logo and “World Champions” on the front, it’s the little, hidden things on the ring that may not be noticed that makes the ring special. For instance, in addition to having their name and number, players and coaches will have an inscription inside the ring. The inscription reads “11/3/2016 – 12:47 AM EST,” the date and time the curse was broken. The inside also includes a tiny goat and the result of each series in the Cubs playoff run.

This surely will be a great thing for anyone who’s lucky to get a ring to cherish for the rest of their lives. Whether it has zero diamonds or 214, that ring is priceless and is a symbol of what all they had to go through over an entire season to be the best of the best.
