The dog days of summer a long gone, as the NFL just completed its first week and college football is two weeks in to its season. However, that didn’t stop the game of summer — baseball — from going after the dog-owning demographic in a unique way.

Dogs were more than welcome at U.S. Cellular Field on Tuesday night, as the Chicago White Sox hosted a dog night at the park. The only difference is that the Sox went after a world record (yes, there’s actually a world record for dogs at a sporting event) and 1,122 dogs later, it achieved said goal.

No seriously, that actually happened…and don’t forget to check your #BarkInThePark hashtag on Twitter because if you love dogs then it will make your night.

Heck…even Snapchatted human beings got in on the act

(no word on if this one counted towards the record)

However, we have to wonder what the Sox are going to do to top this world record. After all, this is the baseball team that celebrated the killing of Disco music and just celebrated the 25th anniversary of U.S. Cellular Field only to announce a new naming rights deal a few months later.
