The Rockies’ Charlie Blackmon surely thought he had an infield single on a slow roller down the first base line on Thursday night, but Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez turned up to make an absolutely ridiculous play to get Blackmon out.

Blackmon was just a few feet away from first base, when Ryu made a crazy backhanded flip on the move, and Gonzalez (somehow) caught the ball with his barehand and neck. It was really more of the ball catching Gonzalez.

Los Angeles TV play-by-play man Joe Davis had a great call on the play:

A magic trick for out number one! What just happened?!

And Dodgers radio announcer Charley Steiner called it “the ugliest looking beautiful play.”

See the incredible play for yourself:

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, they didn’t have enough magic on the night, and lost 4-3 to Colorado.
