Baseball’s an increasingly global game, and it looks like unusual uniforms have also gone beyond just the ranks of Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball. The uniforms German team Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg wore in this weekend’s four-team Buchbinder Cup would hold up pretty well in any examination of odd uniforms. Here are some further photos of their game against Untouchables Paderborn, from baselineroad.de:

And some from Monday’s tournament final against the Bonn Capitals, also from Baseline Road:

These are quite the outfits, with the suspenders and plaid in particular as interesting touches. Unfortunately, they didn’t quite work out this time; Regensburg lost the final to Bonn, 11-5.

  1. I used to play for this team, and those are alternate jerseys intended to reflect traditional Bavarian clothing. They are only used a couple times a year and they are awesome!
