Minor League baseball has a luxury that Major League baseball doesn’t, which is players wearing ridiculous jerseys that have nothing to do with baseball.

All across the minor leagues every season, teams wear ridiculous jerseys about everything from Game of Thrones to Seinfeld for promotions to bring fans into the park.

Just recently, the Fredrick Keys (Single-A Baltimore) wore Hey Arnold! jerseys with the Lynchburg Hillcats (Single-A Cleveland). Shortly after, the Fresno Grizzlies (Triple-A Houston) donned Good Burger jerseys to throw it back to the 1990s as well.

The 1990s nostalgia isn’t over yet either, thanks to the Brooklyn Cyclones (Single-A New York Mets) and Vermont Lake Monsters (Single-A Oakland), who will wear jerseys devoted to the Nickelodeon cartoon The Ren & Stimpy Show.

On Wednesday Aug. 10, the Cyclones will proudly wear jerseys with the cartoon character Stimpy on them, while the Lake Monsters will don jerseys with Ren on them.

The Cyclones will also be giving out Ren and Stimpy bobbleheads to commemorate the night as well.

Nickelodeon is a great ’90s theme for minor league clubs to throw back to because it can attract so many different types of fans, appealing to nostalgia and retro interests. With Good BurgerHey Arnold!, and Ren & Stimpy already done this season, maybe a team should jump on Rugrats or The Wild Thornberrys.
