CINCINNATI, OH – AUGUST 18: Ichiro Suzuki #51 of the Miami Marlins beats the throw to Joey Votto #19 of the Cincinnati Reds to safely make it back to first base during the sixth inning at Great American Ball Park on August 18, 2016 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Everybody likes pizza, it’s a fact of the human race.

So naturally, Cincinnati Reds star first baseman Joey Votto decided that he was going to order some pizza for 3,000-hit club member Ichiro Suzuki. But he didn’t just order a few of them, he ordered 51 (!) pizzas, in honor of Ichiro’s No. 51. Yes, that’s 51 individual pizzas all for Ichiro, delivered to the Miami Marlins’ dugout in front of Ichiro’s locker.

This is because a Marlins player who was not specified gave donuts to Votto when the team arrived in Cincinnati for the series between the two teams on Monday.

Because of Votto’s gesture, it’s safe to assume that it’s Ichiro.

If you believe in karma, then you believe that the fact that Votto had the pizzas delivered had something to do with the Reds’ 5-4 victory Thursday.

Either way, Votto is the best for that. Put him in the Hall of Fame, now.
