It turns out even Major League pitchers can get caught up in bi-partisan political debates.
With the U.S. Congress deciding whether to repeal Obamacare and with it take away contraceptive coverage, Brewers pitcher Matt Garza tweeted at Jessica Chastain that abstinence is “the best contraceptive” after the Oscar-nominated actress voiced her disapproval on the vote’s impact on women.
It's called abstinence, a word that has been forgotten amongst this generation… it's the best contraceptive… #juatsaying https://t.co/OgKg1qQmln

Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy, who made headlines recently with a masturbation-related tweet, decided to give it another shot.
good point. I just have a hamper full of filthy socks and my wife sits on the washing machine 12-6 pm and we're doing great

That may be too much information for some, but Twins pitcher Phil Hughes was into it.

Like most of us, Hughes was excited for the potential feud that could’ve unfolded, but Garza decided to end the discussion right there on a positive note.

It’s worth noting that Garza does not seem particularly interested in abstinence OR contraception. The 33-year-old has six kids.
