Monday is Seattle Mariners outfielder Leonys Martin’s 29th birthday. Happy birthday, Leonys!

As a birthday gift to Martin, his Mariners teammates hired a mariachi band to follow him around (and play their music, naturally) at the team’s Spring Training home, the Peoria Sports Complex in Arizona.
There is a mariachi band playing in the Mariners clubhouse now.

So the mariachi band is following Leonys Martin wherever he goes. It was his birthday present from the team. pic.twitter.com/ibb0sZIayq

I also want to give a shoutout to the Mariners player running sprints while wearing a sombrero. That’s incredible.
2016 was Martin’s first year with the Mariners, and he hit .247/.306/.378 with 24 stolen bases in 143 games with the team. He’s projected as the team’s starting center fielder in 2017.
This never would have happened if Lloyd McClendon was still around. That guy hated fun.
M’s are a team on the come. They will be in the hunt and fun to watch, DiPoto has put together a good roster and Servais will keep them loose throughout the year.
