Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer may dominate opposing batters at the plate, but isn’t nearly as threatening when he steps in the batter’s box.
With a career batting average of .194 (which, to be fair, is still very good for a pitcher), Scherzer does not mind getting a few pointers to help improve his approach at the plate, even if it comes from a young fan.
Scherzer shared an image of a book he received from a young fan recently, and it apparently included some tips on what to do the next time he comes up to bat: Swing really hard.
Got a book from a big Nats fan.. I now realize in order to hit a home run I have to swing VERRRRY hard! #TurnNBurn pic.twitter.com/xkW6Rut1PB

That sounds like some sound logic there, and if he is going to stick around in the National League (and he’s signed to do so through 2021), then he may want to give it a shot!
