The road of minor league baseball is paved with unique, strange, and downright disturbing promotions. Mostly they’re inoffensive curios that maybe, just maybe, convince someone to head over to the local ballpark, plunk down $10 and watch a bunch of folks play ball.

The Stockton Ports have one of those coming with Asparagus Night.

Okay.

Please explain.

The world’s favorite vegetable? The famous staple Stockton is known for? You guessed it – ASPARAGUS! And we’ve got it! Enjoy a game centered around Stockton’s vegetable, and even have a chance to bid on your favorite player’s LIMITED EDITION asparagus jersey! Stay after the game to celebrate asparagus with our post-game fireworks show

Some thoughts:

1. To answer your first question, no, it’s not.

2. To answer your second question, no, it’s not.

3. “Stockton’s vegetable”

4. No one is going to stick around to watch the fireworks show because they’ll all be running screaming from how bad the urinals are all going to smell.

That gives an idea for the next theme. Asparagus Pee Smell Night. We’d love to see the jerseys you come up with for that one.
