One young, passionate Pittsburgh Pirates fan was rewarded by his favorite baseball team for his patience.
Nick, a four-year-old, was in the stands the entire game during the Pirates 18-inning marathon against the Washington Nationals. Nick expressed every emotion throughout the game. He was sad, he was entertained, he was tired, he was hungry and finally, he was happy to see Pittsburgh pull off the victory – all of which was captured by the broadcast. The game ended with the Pirates winning on a Starling Marte walk-off home run – to which Nick gleefully celebrated.
It was an awesome moment and the Pirates made sure to reward Nick for his fandom.
The organization heard of Nick’s dedication and invited him to hang out with the Pirates. He toured Pittsburgh’s clubhouse and facilities with his favorite player, Marte. He got the chance to meet Pirates manager Clint Hurdle and got to play some games with Pirates players. It seemed like a dream come true for the little guy.
He lasted 18 innings with us last week in Washington so now Nick's at PNC Park & he's hanging with us for the night!https://t.co/dUVwzSvyan

It’s classy to see Pittsburgh invite Nick to view the clubhouse and have such a good time. The Pirates were under no obligation to do so. Without question, it will be a moment he’ll never forget.
