Baseball players can be collectors too. For Colorado Rockies reliever Pat Neshek, seeking out cards and autographs of other ballplayers ins a passion. But just because he is a ballplayer doesn’t mean he is exempt from being turned down for a signed baseball from another pro ballplayer. Of note, Zack Greinke left Neshek hanging at the all-star game this summer when Neshek tried to get Greinke’s signature to add to his collection.

So how did Neshek handle the shunning by Greinke? By doing what any bitter autograph collector would do: bitching about it on the internet.

Neshek took to a message board on Tuesday to share his story. As told by Neshek, he had previously asked Greinke at the All-Star Game if he could get an autograph, and the starting pitcher had agreed. During a recent series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Neshek arranged to have a few cards handed to Greinke so he could sign them at his convenience, but Greinke denied the request. Neshek did not hold back in his message board rant.

“I waited around for him at batting practice and went up to him and he totally denied having the conversation at the All-Star Game,” Neshek said on the message board. “I then asked him why this was a problem and he said it’s because ‘I wear him out.’ Hard to wear someone out when he has never signed for me. This is the only ahole in major league baseball that has been a turd to me.”

According to Neshek, Greinke said he wouldn’t even sign for his kid after Neshek went on ripping him to his face. How hard is it to sign a couple quick autographs for a fellow baseball player?

“I then let him know what I thought of him again and being the socially awkward guy he is ran back to his dugout and went inside,” Neshek explained.

Ballplayers and pro athletes can get tired of signing autographs, and they do have to go about their lives and business at some point, but if Greinke agreed to sign the autographs for Neshek, then he should have signed the autographs and been done with it.
