An MMA fighter in Boca Raton, Florida was shot and killed Monday night in an apparent home invasion, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Aaron Rajman, 25, was a member American Top Team. He had a 2-2 record as a professional after going 8-1 as an amateur and gained renown for being one of the few Orthodox Jewish MMA fighters in the country. He wore a yarmulke in the ring and said he prayed daily.
Per the Palm Beach Post, “several men” entered Rajman’s suburban house around 10:25 p.m. and a fight ensued. Rajman died of his injuries later that night. Police reportedly have little information about potential suspects.
Though Rajman wasn’t an MMA superstar, his death rippled through the sport’s community, particularly in South Florida.
