If it makes dollars, it apparently makes all sorts of sense to UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

At least that has to be the case after his manager, Audie Attar, spoke to ESPN and stated his client would look at an offer from the WWE.

Yes, the same WWE that McGregor has repeatedly insulted performers inside the “Sports Entertainment” arena. In fact, it’s a large turnabout after McGregor unloaded on the entire locker room of WWE in the lead up to his UFC 202 fight against Nate Diaz.

Let’s remind you of what he had to say then:

“For the most part, those WWE guys are (expletive),” McGregor said. “To be honest, they’re messed up (expletive) if you ask me. Fair play to Brock (Lesnar), he got in a fight but at the end of the day he’s juiced up to the (expletive) eyeballs so how can I respect that?”

And then there was this follow-up Tweet…

Now, let’s take a look at what Attar had to say earlier today:

“I think it’s all about business, man,” Attar told ESPN. “If (WWE) is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here.

“Have their people call his people — which is me. We can have a conversation.”

As the 90s hip-hop legend DJ Quik tells us,”If it don’t make dollars, it don’t make sense.”

Clearly that is what McGregor is about- wherever there is money to be made he is seemingly going to be all about it. That includes the UFC for now, but is that something that’s going to hold his long-term interest if the “dollars don’t make sense” to him?

We’ve already seen him talk about being underpaid for what he brings to the UFC. There are also rumors that McGregor wants an ownership stake in the UFC for future fights to take place.

I mean, why not? After all, he literally holds the keys to kingdom as a two-division champion.

As for his ability to become a WWE superstar? Have you seen this guy in the UFC? He’s all bluster, all big talk, and all larger-than-life personality. That screams WWE superstar to a T, and that’s certainly the thought of Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who is one of the top executives in the company and the head of talent development.

“He could come over, he’s got it all, man,” Levesque said after the event. “He’s got the personality, the skills, the talk. He’s an entertainer, for sure.”

Let’s just say this is all about negotiations and bluster for now. We’ll believe McGregor to the WWE as soon as we see him in the ring with Brock Lesnar at the next WrestleMania. After all, in the world of Sports Entertainment, there’s no bigger money making event than WrestleMania.
