The most shocking upset in all of sports in 2015 was Holly Holm taking down the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey in UFC 193. Now, UFC president Dana White is saying Holm’s next fight will be a rematch between the two, cleared for July 9th in Las Vegas.

White told the Los Angeles Times that despite Holm wanting to fight top-ranked Miesha Tate as she awaits a rematch, her next fight will be against Rousey.

Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, expressed doubt about having the fight so soon, concerned it wasn’t enough time for Rousey.

“I’m not sure Ronda will be ready for a July fight,” Fresquez told The LA Times. “She took a severe beating and I don’t think it’s in her best interest to take the next fight so fast. They told me she’s been ready and cleared.”

“Holly’s used to staying active,” Fresquez said. “We’re from the old school and we believe the No. 1 contender is there for a reason. … [Tate] deserves a shot, but it’s not for me to decide.”

White sarcastically responded, “We’re real concerned with his opinion.”

Rousey herself opened up about her losing effort with Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, saying she was embarrassed by her effort in the initial fight.

“I just feel so embarrassed. How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn’t even fucking there.”

As of now, Rousey will be there in July. Already, she is the -155 favorite according to BestFightOdds.com.
