Aside from being an extremely good basketball player, Anthony Davis is known for one thing: his unibrow. Davis has used the nickname “The Brow” dating back to college and once tried trademarking a series of phrases built around the moniker. It’s a big part of his public identity.

So it was a bit surprising to se Davis tweet a poll question Wednesday asking whether he should shave his unibrow. And even more surprising to see that the poll results are exceedingly close. As of about 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, the response were 51-49 in favor of “Yep.”

Anthony, Anthony, Anthony. Don’t do this, man. The brow is your trademark! It’s your nickname! What would people say you if shaved it? Fear The Guy with Two Eyebrows?

One of the most impressive feats of Davis’ young career is making a unibrow work for him. For many people, unibrows are kind of embarrassing, but his is a golden branding opportunity. And he’s really going to give it away because people on Twitter are telling him to. Doesn’t he know people on Twitter are idiots?

In all seriousness, it would be one thing if Davis just decided to shave the brow because he didn’t like it. But to leave it up to the masses? Whew, that’s quite a risk.

Hopefully Davis’ agent or manager or tell-it-like-it-is friend gives the All-Star a call and sets him straight before this poll ends and The Brow becomes The Brows.
