When New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony goes to the store, it’s likely that he draws quite a bit of attention. When he goes to the store wearing a bathrobe, he’s likely to garner a lot more attention.

Anthony decided it was time to head to the store Thursday night and pick up a snack. Despite wearing a robe, he headed out of the house to get something to eat. And since it was New York, a bodega was just a short walk away. Just in case no one could recognize him, “Melo” was embroidered on the left chest. All he was missing was a pair of slippers, instead of sneakers.

Thankfully, his wife, La La was there the whole time to ridicule him via Snapchat.

“Who do you know goes to the corner store with a robe on?” she said while recording her husband’s snack run.

Not only is Anthony in a white robe, it’s monogrammed. Not really helping your street cred, Melo. Or maybe it will help. “I was coming from the house,” he said in self-defense. “This is what I wear in the house.” He was also wearing an Olympics hat, and we know winning his third gold medal in Rio meant a lot to him.

Some might question Anthony’s effort on the court. After seeing this video, I think I have more questions about his effort off the court. Put some real clothes on next time you get hungry and make a bodega run.
