The Boston Celtics’ defense is playing on another level than the rest of the NBA right now. Brad Stevens’ team is allowing just 94.5 points per game, with the Oklahoma City Thunder second at 97.1 points allowed. The Celtics are tops in field goal percentage allowed (42.9%), adjusted field goal percentage allowed (48.0%), and opponent points per shot (1.14).

The defense has led Boston to a ridiculous winning streak that extended to 14 games with their 92-88 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.

Steph Curry was held to nine points on 2-of-9 shooting, and Kevin Durant (24 points) was the only Warrior to top 13 points.  The Warriors’ previous season-low in points scored was 97.

The Celtics are now 14-2 (they actually started the season 0-2!) and have a three-game lead for the No. 1 seed in the East. They’re also 5.5 games up on the Cavs.

Despite all of this, Charles Barkley is still not a believer, and thinks the Celtics would even lose to the Raptors and Wizards in a series.

Classic Chuck. The Celtics will look to extend their winning streak to 15 games when they take on the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night.
