Much like the rest of us, NBA players also have access to the Internet and social media. So, it should not come as a surprise that when a big story breaks involving one of their own, they are as much in the loop as the rest of us. The biggest difference is, they can actually confront a teammate when he does something to publicly embarrass himself, and Draymond Green certainly did that yesterday.
Green may have hoped the Olympic stakes would be enough to keep his Team USA teammates focused only on the task at hand, but had Golden State Warriors forward had no such luck. Cameras at the squad’s practice following his Snapchat mishap picked up on the conversation Klay Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, and Paul George were having, and the topic of Green just happened to come up.
Everyone with the team seems to be familiar with the incident, and Cousins mocks Green’s pose multiple times in the video. He even seems to dog George about his own unfortunate history with cell phone pictures.
It may be awhile before Green can live this down, but at least he will only have to put up with Cousins’ teasing in the locker room for a few more weeks.
