The Philadelphia 76ers opened up a brand new, state-of-the-art practice facility to help their well-known process develop for the future within the last year. It turns out the facility has plenty of hidden easter eggs that honor the legacy of former general manager Sam Hinkie.

Sprinkled throughout the light fixtures and electrical boxes and more in the Sixers’ training facility are messages honoring Hinkie and his “Trust the Process” agenda that has been adopted by many Sixers fans as a master plan to make the Sixers relevant once again. The images of these secret messages were documented by an anonymous tipster to The Ringer by way of photographs from the various stages of construction in the facility. The devoted Sam Hinkie devotee chose to keep his name anonymous for the sake of getting in possible trouble with his employer or the Sixers.

“I want Joel Embiid to know what I did,” the unknown electrician said to The Ringer. “But I’m also pitted between Joel Embiid and my job. Not like it’s illegal what I did. You can’t even see it. But … I think I’m going to have to remain anonymous.

The unnamed electrician shared photos of messages of “Sam Hinkie Died for This” and “TTP” inscribed on the backs of light boxes, light switch and outlet covers, and on lamp shades that hang from the ceilings. You can find the easter eggs just about everywhere in the building, including the owners’ lounge and general manager’s office which seems fitting.

The Sixers just drafted Markelle Fultz out of Washington with the top overall draft pick, a year after drafting Ben Simmons of LSU with the top pick. Combined with Joel Embiid and Dario Saric, the Sixers appears to be ready to take the long-awaited steps forward in transitioning from “process” to “progress.” They will do so without Hinkie, having previously parted ways with Hinkie in favor of Bryan Colangelo. But the future of the team will have Hinkie’s fingerprints all over it. And the practice facility will have his legacy inscribed within the walls.
