Gregg Popovich, the NBA’s wise old man, shared more words of wisdom with the media on Tuesday. His newest Popism explained why he believes it’s important to donate money to charities and those in need.

From ESPN’s Michael C. Wright:

Pop 2020?

That’s a strong take from Popovich, and you’d expect most people to agree. It’s also not surprising to hear him deliver this message considering he left a $5,000 tip at a Memphis restaurant earlier this year.

Generally speaking, Popovich hasn’t shied away from speaking about issues unrelated to basketball. He called President Donald Trump a “soulless coward” in October. He criticized Trump many times before in addition unleashing passionate rants on race, immigration, and politicians acting like children.
