It was just about a week ago when we caught a glimpse of the Memphis Grizzlies mascot taking it to a bear in a good old-fashioned TLC wrestling match during a stop in the action at a Grizzlies playoff game. The mascot was at it again Thursday night during the final playoff game of the season for the Grizzlies, and perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that the season came to an end given how the latest wrestling act played out.

On Thursday night, the mascot had some pro wrestling guests join him, but that didn’t seem to help the overall quality of the match. With Memphis wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler and Buff Bagwell on hand to ramp up the theatrics, the Grizzlies mascot once again climbed the ladder and took a leap toward the table below, where a wrestler taking on the role of a San Antonio Spurs fan, was waiting to be taken through the table.

There was just one slight problem with that. That table was too darn sturdy and never broke in half.

Ouch. That didn’t go well. Let’s watch it again from a different angle and cringe at the awkwardness that ensues.

It was a fun gimmick while it lasted, and we’ll wait to see if it continues moving forward. In the meantime, I still want to see mascots in a Royal Rumble at the next WWE Pay-Per-View. Why hasn’t this happened yet?
