J.R. Smith

J.R. Smith and the Cleveland Cavaliers won the franchise’s first NBA title on Sunday, and Smith hasn’t stopped celebrating since. On Thursday, that celebration included a call-back to one of Smith’s most, uh, memorable moments.

Back in 2013, Smith famously asked a woman on Twitter if she was “trying to get the pipe” in a direct-message conversation made public. Three years later, Smith is now signing pipes.

First off, J.R. is wearing a shirt! Second, credit to @Grant_Packo for a great idea. Third, is Smith just signing anything at this point?

What would be great is if a fan got a picture with Smith signing his old New York Knicks jersey. After all, LeBron James is still pointing out over a year later the mistake New York made trading Smith and Iman Shumpert.

During the victory parade, James said to the crowd:

“By the way, the New York Knicks said J.R. was just a throw-in, by the way.”

Well that supposed throw-in is having the best week of his life thanks to James and the rest of the Cavs.

Since Sunday, Smith has been seen mostly without a shirt on. That’s prompted the President of the United States Barack Obama to call him out when speaking with Cavs’ Head Coach Tyronn Lue.

Better yet, shirts are now being made so that you can look like Smith does without a shirt on.

In case you missed it, Smith’s daughter is also probably on cloud nine after giving a better interview than Riley Curry (okay maybe that’s a stretch).
