There are a lot of perks of being one of the best players on New York’s NBA team and an ascendent NBA star. There’s money, fame, sex, prom dates, etc.

That’s right, prom dates. One ambitious young Knicks fan brought a sign to a recent Knicks game asking rookie Kristaps Porzingis to her prom (in rhyme!).

It turns out Sam here is an awfully big Knicks fan, though based on her extensive memorabilia collection she looks to be a bigger fan of Carmelo Anthony than she is of Kristaps.

Sam definitely wasn’t messing around. She clearly put a lot of effort into this prom-asking stunt and even included the words “serious question” in her tweet, in case that was in doubt.

Finally, Porzingis caught wind of of the prom invitation, and he let her down easy, with some blushing emojis, a charming video and a polite excuse.
