LeBron James has delivered on his promise to bring a championship to the city of Cleveland, and now he gets to have a little fun with those who have criticized him in recent years.

It is becoming more and more difficult for people to come up with logical reasons to despise or criticize LeBron James. The now three-time NBA champion has an NBA title banner to hang in Cleveland — CLEVELAND! — and he is pulling no punches as he addresses his critics. He knows you are out there, and he is now sending you into hiding.

For King James, the fun got started with the plane ride home. As he made his way off the team plane as it landed in Cleveland, James was the one holding the trophy, and he did so wearing a shirt with WWE legend Ultimate Warrior on the chest. This was quite the subtle shot at the team he and his Cavs just rallied from down 3-1 to defeat in a historic series. Remember the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cavs last season and Steph Curry was the unanimous MVP of the league this season. James turned in a Finals MVP performance though and has earned the right for a little trolling in the aftermath.

Of course, James had more to say on Instagram, where he sent a message to all of his so-called haters, complete with a Kermit the Frog sipping tea meme to close things out in the photo.

They said u lost a step, wasn’t explosive as once was, the best days was in the real view, questioned your drive, your leadership, your commitment, you don’t have killer instinct, going back home is the worst mistake in your career, he got the coach fired, players traded, won’t work between him and Kyrie, Him and Kev won’t work, love your teammates to much, there’s no way he can deliver a championship in his hometown, etc etc etc…. But guess what THATS NONE OF MY BUSINESS

To be fair though, a lot of those criticisms were arguably valid. James did likely have a strong say on who was or was not coaching the Cavs. He is not quite the player he once was after so many years in the league, although you wouldn’t have known it watching this series. James did deliver a killer instinct, and he did so for the second year in a row with the Cavs. James had a case to be made for being the Finals MVP last year, despite the Warriors winning the series. And there were some struggles and possible hidden messages suggesting there was a problem with the team chemistry along the way. But all is good now, because James is a winner who made all good again in Cleveland, a city desperate for something to cheer after decades without a parade.

What will the critics have to resort to now? Whatever it is, James will be ready to try and silence whatever is left, and we can only hope he shows a sense of humor like this about it when he does.
