The Cleveland Cavaliers trail the Golden State Warriors 2-0 in the NBA Finals, but LeBron James has not been Cleveland’s problem. The King is averaging 28.5 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists over the two games, while shooting better than 50 percent.

So when he was asked Wednesday whether he was “tired” from playing 40 minutes a game during the postseason, he responded with a smile, saying, “Do I look tired? I’m averaging a triple-double in the Finals, I’m pretty good.”

The question was not totally unfair given how much LeBron has had to carry the Cavs in the Finals and throughout the postseason, but at the same time, nothing in his play suggests he’s tired. Sure he panted a little on the sidelines during Game 2, but that didn’t stop him from putting up 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.

Basically, any explanation for the Cavs’ two blowout losses that begins with LeBron is likely to be off base.

James is usually pretty responsive to the media, but clearly he’s a bit worn down from all the questions. He refused to go to the podium for his postgame press conference Sunday, then responded sharply to a (pretty silly) question about home-court advantage.

It is fair to assume LeBron is ready to get back to basketball.
