Jokic Nuggets Bucks

For years, the San Antonio Spurs have been known for their amazing fundamental basketball. But even the Spurs might have to tip to their caps to the Denver Nuggets after one offensive sequence Wednesday with just a ton of beautiful passes.

In the third quarter of their game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Denver put on a passing clinic that would have any basketball purist salivating for more. In 12 seconds, the Nuggets made nine passes and ended it beautifully with a layup.

While all of these passes are nice to see, center Nikola Jokic’s passes are particularly wild. And that was only part of his overall amazing night. The second-year NBA player put up 13 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, his second-straight triple-double and fourth overall. Pretty good for someone who was only picked 41st overall back in 2014.

For the Bucks, this had to be hard. Denver spaced the floor so well during this series and made it difficult to disrupt their passing show. That was just part of their overall dominance, too, as the Nuggets were up 63-37 at halftime and 82-53 by the time of this third-quarter highlight.

Though the Nuggets aren’t the sexiest team in the league, series like this show how much Denver has improved. If they end up with the eight seed (and eventually get smoked by Golden State), we likely won’t remember this season for the Nuggets. But I imagine fans in Denver will remember plays like this as their team continues to develop and show off its potential.
