With Kevin Durant gone, there’s only one star left in Oklahoma City, and Russell Westbrook needs a new BFF.
Enter Victor Oladipo.
The Thunder acquired Oladipo from Orlando in June, and clearly he and Westbrook have had some time to bond because…
Oladipo on Russell Westbrook singing to him: "Some days at night I can't sleep, and I just call him, and he sings me to sleep."

That is, uh, interesting.
Westbrook’s singing voice must be pretty soothing if it can rock Oladipo to sleep at night, but we can’t know for sure because usually when we’ve heard Russ sing he’s been drowned out by Taylor Swift in the background.
Also Russell Westbrook is still a Taylor Swift fan — "WE ARE NEVER EVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER" 👀 pic.twitter.com/PsAGwxeIJR

Still, there are some serious issues with Westbrook singing Oladipo to.
Besides the obvious ridiculousness of a guy crooning his co-worker to sleep over the phone, it seems Westbrook and Oladipo have this dynamic backwards. It’s Oladipo who’s famous for his pipes.
It would appear the partnership between Russell Westbrook and Victor Oladipo is off to a gleeful start. @kfor pic.twitter.com/ipgUmXzLjd

Now that dude can sing!
In fact, as you may recall, Oladipo once serenaded the NBA Dunk Contest crowd with some Frank Sinatra.

It’s nice to see Oladipo and Wesbtrook bonding over their shared musicality, and it’s even nicer to see everyone having some fun in Oklahoma City. It’s obviously going to be different over there with Durant gone, but this could be a sneaky good team if Westbrook stays healthy, Oladipo steps up and the young big men play like they did last year.
Perhaps Oladipo and Wesbtrook can sing their way to the playoffs.
