It would appear some fans in Oklahoma City are still coming to terms with the departure of Kevin Durant this past summer to the Golden State Warriors. One Thunder fan came up with a new and creative way to take a shot at the former Thunder star.

This fan shown below was seen wearing a customized Thunder jersey with Durant’s old uniform number and the name “Cupcake” stitched across the name plate…

Heh, OK. That’s pretty neat. And it doesn’t take a whole lot to figure out this is a clear shot at Durant, who left to be a part of a team deemed the favorites to win the NBA title this season after losing to them in the Western Conference Finals. Of course, there is a deeper layer to this form of troll art, and it’s rather genius.

It stems from Durant’s time with the Thunder, when he would call teammates “Cupcake” if he thought they were being soft in practice. The term was originally started by former Thunder center Kendrick Perkins and was picked up by Durant and Russell Westbrook, who hasn’t been afraid of stirring the pot when it comes to Durant since Durant left for Golden State. On the day Durant made his decision to leave for Golden State via free agency, Westbrook shared an image of cupcakes on his Instagram feed, naturally.

Fast forward a few months, and now we have a Thunder fan throwing cupcakes in Durant’s direction, metaphorically speaking. Delicious.
