Wednesday’s NBA preseason game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors had little reason to make headlines, except for the fact there was a SHOE thrown at another player during the game.

During the game, Clippers forward Blake Griffin was looking to get rid of a loose shoe on the floor at Staples Center. The loose shoe ended up being thrown at Raptors guard Cory Joseph’s face, which caused for quite a few laughs.

After seeing this incident, the Raptors had a pretty funny response.

First of all, this is a bit of an over exaggeration by George. It hit him in the chin, and you would’ve thought he was punched in the face by Griffin.

As Austin Powers and former U.S. President George W. Bush can attest, no one wants a shoe thrown at them.  But this seems a little dramatic. Griffin isn’t an easily likable player, but I don’t think he’s attempting to injure opponents in the preseason. Toronto’s Twitter account handled this perfectly. Let’s hope NBA Twitter accounts are this creative during the regular season.
