Heading into Tuesday’s preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer was already burdened with a cast, thanks to a broken finger.

Things managed to get worse Tuesday. While standing on the sideline, Budenholzer ended up in a collision as the Pelicans’ Langston Galloway was going for a loose ball going out of bounds. Galloway knocked down the Hawks’ head coach.

The collision shook up the already-injured Budenholzer, and he missed the rest of the preseason game.

Obviously, it’s a scary incident (just look at Budenholzer’s face as Galloway is about to bowl into him). It’s also an incident where it’s hard to fault either party. Budenholzer is standing in a pretty normal position for coaches, and Galloway is just trying to make a play. It’s just unfortunate it had to happen to Budenholzer.

Here’s to hopping Budenholzer heals quickly and avoids the wrath of playings going for loose balls in the future.
