jonas valanciunas

The idea of dunking on someone is a foreign thought to almost the entire country. It is a big reason why we are all fans of basketball.

Freakish athletes displaying their skills against other freakish athletes. Very rarely do you see someone get “posterized.” Too many players are good enough to prevent such a moment, and only a few guys are good enough to make one happen. When the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons tipped off Thursday night, you may have expected Andre Drummond or DeMar DeRozan to pull off such a posterization.

But how about Jonas Valancuinas?

None of us were ready for such European on European crime. These two players are absolute monsters as well, each standing at least seven feet tall. Marjanović, at 7-foot-3, gets dunked on by the “smaller” Valanciunas.

The beginning of this season has resembled more of an All-Star game than the NBA regular season. We’ve seen play after play where something exciting happens on the court. After watching the first two nights of the season, it is easy to see why the NBA is in such a good place.
