The Toronto Raptors’ Demar DeRozan lost his shoe during the team’s game against the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night at Golden 1 Center, and Sacramento’s Rudy Gay wasn’t having any of it.

Gay decided that the shoe would be in a much better home if it was in the crowd instead. Not only did Gay throw DeRozan’s shoe into the stands, but he nailed a fan with it too.

It’s so pointless. Why does Gay think it’s necessary to do that? Messing with DeRozan and getting in his head is a good reason, one can suppose. This screams of a player losing in a game and wanting to shake things up a bit.

The Kings have been downright dreadful this year and with a few players that aren’t playing up to par, maybe they should be the ones thrown away. They are willing to try anything as evidenced by Gay’s actions, an entire reboot of the team may be in the cards.
