The 2015-16 season ended on an epic buzzer beater by the Villanova Wildcats in the national championship. Just days into the college basketball season, it looks like we’ve just taken off from where we last left off.

In the early stages of the 2016-17 college basketball season, we’ve already gotten to experience that buzzer-beater feeling multiple times. Purdue got to show Villanova what it’s like to be on the other side of a buzzer beater.

The trend continued Monday with Texas A&M hitting a buzzer-beater of its own to end the half… and it came from 3/4 court. Check out this amazing shot from the Aggies freshman forward Eric Vila:

Damn. And such a small crowd there to see it. The Aggies went on to win Monday, and improve to 2-0 after handling American.

Though none of these early season games have the importance of the national championship, there is just something quite exciting about these plays. It also helps us get back into the excitement of college basketball, which can be hard to do while in the midst of the college football and NFL seasons.
