Jovon Durante had his name spelled wrong on a Florida Atlantic graphic welcoming him.

The Florida Atlantic Owls have been doing some impressive recruiting under head coach Lane Kiffin, but they perhaps should have paid some more attention to a graphic created for new receiver Jovon Durante, a transfer from West Virginia. They spelled his name “Javon”:

Yeah, that doesn’t seem ideal. But hey, Durante didn’t complain, and he tweeted it out. And he seems to be a nice addition for the Owls. As ESPN’s Jake Trotter writes, Durante’s had an impressive career at West Virginia:

Durante was a former ESPN 300 signee in 2015, who was the Mountaineers’ fourth-leading receiver the past two years. He has 59 career catches, 709 yards and 7 touchdowns.

Durante had been surprisingly absent from West Virginia’s preseason camp, with head coach Dana Holgorsen citing “personal issues.” It’s not entirely clear what led him to transfer. But he should be a nice addition for the Owls, and should further boost the impressive crop of talent they’ve landed. It just might have worked out a bit better if they’d spelled his name correctly in the graphic.
