Not much gets college kids (or really, any non-vegetarian) as excited as the prospect of getting free bacon. After all, we can always find room for more bacon in our poorly constructed diets, right?

Fans of Florida State basketball will be getting some free bacon on Saturday during a game against Clemson in a show of recognition for one of the emerging stars of the Seminoles, Dwayne Bacon.

The bacon is for students only, and it will be given away on a first come-first served basis. So if you have a hankerin’ for some bacon, Florida State students, you know what to do. I imagine there will be one bacon-starved FSU student camping out to be first in line for his serving of bacon Saturday afternoon. After all, isn’t that what college kids do?

Florida State is currently 13-7 this season, and just 3-5 in ACC play. Odds are this Florida State team is not going to be making any sort of run to the NCAA tournament, so why not find other ways to get fans excited? Bacon is just the trick, and it is a perfect promo for the program with a player like Bacon. Bacon is second on the team with 16.0 points per game, and is the team’s leading rebounder (119 so far this season).
