The UC Davis Aggies are going to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, after a 50-47 Big West title game victory over top-seeded UC Irvine on Saturday night in Anaheim.

Here’s video of the scene:

Just a week ago, UC Davis lost by 30 points to this same UC Irvine team!

UC Davis joins Jacksonville State, North Dakota, Northern Kentucky, and (almost surely) Northwestern as teams that will go to the Big Dance for the first time.

The Aggies — coached by former NBA guard Jim Les — are 22-12 on the season, and were the Big West tourney’s No. 2 seed. They became a Division I program in 2004.
