Three Michigan Wolverines football players — freshman wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell, redshirt freshman defensive end Shelton Johnson, and freshman running back Kareem Walker — were absent from the preseason team photo.

Naturally, the media asked Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday why these players were absent from the team photo, and Harbaugh said that two of the players are suspended.

Harbaugh was then asked which two players were suspended, and said the Wolverines will handle that internally:

“You know, I know you like to ask a lot of questions but we’ll just handle that internally.”

And then when asked how long the suspensions are for, an irritated Harbaugh had this to say before walking out:

“That’s why I don’t give you any information, because you’re never satisfied. You want a second question, a third question, a fourth question. I just said we’d handle it internally.”

Here’s video of the interview session, via 247 Sports:

The Detroit Free Press was told by a University of Michigan official that Kareem Walker — a four-star recruit — was not suspended, which would mean that Ahmir Mitchell and Shelton Johnson are the two suspended players. But, I’d recommend not asking Harbaugh for confirmation on that.

Here’s more information on the players that are apparently suspended, thanks to MLive.Com:

Mitchell, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound receiver from New Jersey, enrolled early at Michigan this year and went through spring drills with the program. The former four-star recruit was ranked as the No. 167 player in the country by 247sports.

Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 212-pound defensive lineman from Florida, did not play last season for the Wolverines — taking a redshirt year instead. The former three-star recruit was the No. 20-ranked strongside defensive end recruit in the 2015 recruiting class.
